Turn network sharing on or off, and what others then see

Settings, Privacy, Share my network. Off by default, confirmed before it turns on, and others see only a name, employer, and role, plus the fact that you know the person.

Your network is private by default. Network sharing is one setting for your whole account that lets other itogai users who have you as a contact see you as a bridger and ask you for an introduction to someone you know.

  1. Go to Settings, then Privacy.

  2. Turn on Share my network. itogai asks you to confirm and shows what others will see.

  3. To turn it off, switch it off. No confirmation is needed, and it takes effect at once.

What others see with it on, for a person you know: their name, employer, and role, plus the fact that you know them. That’s the whole business card. They never see an email address, a phone number, a score, a circle, how often you talk, or any message. Seeing that you know someone gives nobody the right to contact them. The only way through is an introduction request to you, and you decide.

Good to know:

  • There is no exception per contact. The setting covers your whole network, on or off.

  • Switching it off closes every pending introduction request where you’re the bridger, and the requester’s Sparks are released in full.

  • A Group is different. It lets the members of one organization see which of them knows a given person, at the same business-card depth. Whether Groups are available on your account is shown in the product.
